FOR PARENTS of CA STUDENTS in PreK-4th Grade: If you are the parent of PreK-4th grader, you may choose to create a profile for your children so that you can manage or monitor their online information within the CA CN.   You do not have to create a profile for your child if you do not wish to do so. Homework blogs and class pages are available to you. If you create a profile for your child, you may choose to allow any categories of information within the profile to be private or public within the CA CN. All fields are defaulted to private. None of the profile information for any CA CN user is public on the internet.

CA 5th-8th Grade Students: You may create register your own profile but parent authorization is required. Your parent should help you create a profile within the CA CN so that they you may participate in collaborative coursework using the tools of the network.

Parents of CA 5th - 8th Grade Students: You will "own" your child's profile, so you can monitor it. You may choose to attach your own e-mail address or your child's e-mail address to his or her profile. You can customize their CA CN profile privacy settings.

Again, none of the profile information for any CA CN user is public on the internet. In addition, the CA CN is not mined by commercial companies for data collection. It is a completely secure portal.

We are thrilled to be able to offer this educational community networking tool! As we continue to build modules within it, we will add new functionality. We are one of the few (if not the only) PreK-8 school using this platform to enhance our program and provide our students with technology skills necessary to excel. At the same time, we are keeping all the constituent members of our community connected! Please let us know if you have any questions about registering or using the network.
