WW: Create flash cards for the Unit Eight root and vocabulary words. Add an illustration to the root words to help you memorize the definition (example: showing two bells fighting to illustrate that the root "bell" means "war."

LITERATURE: Tomorrow is the day! Poetry presentations! Use your rubric and be sure to use what you learned in Poetry Alive when you plan how you will deliver your poem to the class. Be sure to bring a website that we can use to project your text for your analysis (using the poetry terms and devices that we have been discussing for the last two weeks.) Thursday there will be a quiz on these terms.
HISTORY: Vocab (definitions and pictures) due Tuesday.

Dress for Poetry Alive: You may wear your warm ups (basketball players) or you may choose to bring a pair of jeans (no rips or holes) along with a solid color polo or t-shirt. Your t-shirt should not have any designs or words on it. You can change for the program at 1:45 if you choose to wear something else.
LITERATURE: Memorize your lines for Poetry Alive. Your individual poem presentations will be next Wednesday. Read through the rubric to be sure you are including all the components. Outside Reading should be well under way. If you would like to present early, please let me know.
HISTORY: Finish your definitions and picture/symbols. (Industrial Revolution, factory system, capitalist, mass production, interchangeable parts, urbanization, telegraph, famine, nativist, discrimination) They are due the next time we have class (next Tuesday.)
LITERATURE: Memorize your poems! You should be "off book" tomorrow if possible. Tomorrow you will be working with the actors on your presentations so be prepared. Jonathan, your partners have great notes for you!
WW: Your two-character short story (using the plot structure with the climax being a proposal of some sort) is due at the end of class on Wednesday. Get a good solid start on it tonight.
